My jewellery making craze began after doing a day class in silver clay jewellery which was soon followed by a years silver clay course. Fast forward 5 more years of online and in-person courses, (plus working as a studio assistant over the first covid Christmas) and I now have my own workshop at home in Nottingham (referred to as ‘the silver room’ by my daughters)!
Here’s something not many people know… It may sound backwards to say this, but I didn’t actually fall in love with jewellery…
It was the process of making that I absolutely love which led me to where I am today. I’ve always been a problem solver and as a graphic designer am a natural story teller and my style has developed in the last few years into more narrative pieces. I love working with the medium of silver clay and particularly get excited when I’m making something meaningful for a customer. I’m also a bit silly and immature (basically refusing to grow up) so love bringing in anything that reminds me of my childhood and pieces with a playful element.
I’m passionate about being an ethical business owner and only use recycled precious metals which have been sourced locally. All my packaging is also either recycled, recyclable or reusable and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
